Take a close look at these Ford Focus ST alloys which received a superb Graphite painted finish, one of the many colours and finishes we can apply to your rims.

Lock, Stock and 4 Smoking Wheels!

nick-moran-at-diamond-alloysIt is not every day you get to meet someone famous, but this week our Workshop Manager Amerjit Ubhi was lucky enough to meet top actor and director Nick Moran, known mostly for his appearance in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows.

Pictured here at Diamond Alloys with Amerjit, Nick Moran was given the full guided tour of our alloy wheel refurbishment centre while his alloys were being fitted.

Nick brought his classic Scimitar car into Diamond alloys to have 4 buckles fixed in addition to a new painted finish. Take a look at the finished wheels below and you will see why Nick has such a big smile on his face!

Diamond Alloys can refurbish most alloy wheels and specialises in both classic cars and performance cars. This is the first time we have repaired and refurbished Scimitar wheels, so it was not only an honour to repair these, but also to have such a well know actor on the premises.

See Nick in action in the Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels trailer below.

Kerbed Alloy Wheels Get a Diamond Cut Makeover at Diamond Alloys

diamond-cut-alloy-wheelsHere is a great example of how badly damaged alloy wheels can get when parking a car too close to a kerb. The scuff marks on the alloy of this VW Golf were extreme and completely destroy the look of the rim, and the car! However, all is not lost and you do not have to go out and buy new alloy wheels; which can be costly. Most scuffs and kerbing damage can be repaired easily, either with a standard painted refurbishment or with a Diamond cut finish. This wheel received the full Diamond cut treatment, where the wheel is cleaned and keyed before cutting on the lathe. This special machine cuts away a thin layer of the metal to the level of the damage, completely removing it and bringing the alloy wheel back to life. The result should be a shiny surface with feint lines across it (a bit like the back of a CD).

One of these alloys also had a buckle, a common problem often caused by driving over potholes too fast. Diamond Alloys can repair buckles, bringing your alloy wheel back to the correct circular shape before any refurbishment is carried out.

Don’t despair if your alloys look as bad as these rims did. Having your alloys repaired and refurbished will save you money and give you a great result. If you want a quotation, simple send us a picture of your alloys and we will be happy to give you a great price, and don’t forget, have all 4 wheels repaired at the same time and we’ll give you a discount!

Audi Gets a Great Shadow Chrome Paint Wheel Refurbishment at Diamond Alloys

diamondalloys-shadow-chrome-alloy-wheels

Diamond Alloys offers customers a variety of finishes for their alloys to either give them a great new look or to help repair scuffs and scrapes often as a result of parking to close to kerbs.

These pictures illustrate the popular shadow chrome painted finish ideal for revamping tired alloy wheels. A shadow chrome alloy wheel finish gives the alloy wheel the effect of a metal finish in the paint. Achieving this look requires dedicated time and skill; more than required for a standard painted finish.

Our paint technicians are highly skilled and can easily shadow chrome car or bike alloy wheels at our West London based alloy wheel refurbishment center.

The wheel is prepared in the same way as a standard refurbishment but an additional lacquered ground coat is applied to the wheel. Following this a very fine silver dust is carefully applied in layers to allow the gloss of the ground coat to shine through. The wheel is lacquered a second time which seals the layers of silver power creating a ‘double gloss’ effect. The end result is a highly reflective surface and an enhanced metallic appearance.

If you want to have a shadow chrome finish applied to your alloy wheels, just like the ones featured on the Audi pictured here, simply call our customer care advisors who will be happy to give you more details about all our services and prices. Call now on 0845 370 2222.

Interview with our new team member – Ryan

At Diamond Alloys we are always keen to invest in our future, not only by insisting on using the latest technology and most up to date machinery and techniques, but by also investing in our staff. We are delighted to have introduced an apprentice scheme, ensuring our next generation are well trained and can offer the high level of skills and service that we aspire to at Diamond Alloys.

Commercial Director John Luttrell said, “We are delighted to have Ryan on our team at Diamond Alloys. The apprentice scheme allows us to train the new generation of wheel care specialists and we are proud to support this. All the team wish Ryan the best.”

Our new apprentice trainee Ryan wanted to gain experience and knowledge in the alloy wheel trade. He will be taught the basics of aqua blasting wheels, stripping wheels back in acid, prepping the wheels along with day to day care and running of the workshop in order to keep it safe for all members of staff at every stage of the wheel repair and refurbishment process. Ryan is pictured below with Paul our head painter, who ensures Ryan is trained to the highest standards possible.

Ryan is 16 and is not yet sure exactly what field within the wheel trade he wants to specialise in, so the apprentice scheme work well for him as it allows him to learn a skill and see all the different processes needed, so he can decide what area he wants to specialise in. He also plans to go on to college and study in more detail, enhancing the skills he has learnt at Diamond Alloys.

Read Ryan’s interview below:

1. How long have you been with Diamond Alloys?

I have just joined the Diamond Alloys team 3 weeks ago, but already feel part of the team.

2. You have started as an apprentice, why did you decide to start your career this way?

I have always had a passion for wheels and it was the easiest way to gain experience and have a good training.

3. What have you been learning since you have started your apprenticeship?

I have learnt a lot so far, for example how to prep wheels, use the aqua blast machine, basic information about the different types of wheels and the services we offer. I have learnt the difference between a painted wheels and diamond cut.

4. Why did you want to work in a workshop environment?

Because I wanted as much hands on experience as possible and this was the best way.

5. What skills you would like to gain at Diamond Alloys?

I would like to gain more confidence and knowledge in alloy wheel refurbishment. I would also like to develop my people skills and improve interaction with others.

6. What do you enjoy most working for Diamond Alloys?

It is nice to work in a team orientated environment.

7. Are you a car lover?

I am more of a motorbike lover, so I was pleased to learn Diamond Alloys also repairs motor bike alloy wheels.

8. Which will be your first car, if you could have any make or model?

I would rather ride a motorbike if I am honest.

9. Which is your favourite Diamond Alloys finish?

I prefer Diamond Cut Wheels because it is the best finish an alloy can get!

10. Where to you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I hope to have gained all necessary qualifications in refurbishing alloy wheels.

11. What do you do in your spare time?

The usual really, I like the simple things going out with my mates.

12. Who is your inspiration?

Alan Sugar!

13. What motives you?

Money! Money! Money!
